Florida GMC Launches Today Welcomes New Churches
Dear Florida GMC Family,
Today is a day we have been waiting for: the Florida Provisional Conference of the Global Methodist Church is officially active! We give thanks to God for all He has done to get us this far. I’m reminded of something Maxie Dunnam taught me, “God’s grace will never take us where God’s grace won’t sustain us.” God’s grace has indeed sustained us through so much. Now we get to see how His grace will fuel this new movement to grow His kingdom!
Before we celebrate all the new churches that have joined the Florida GMC, we continue to acknowledge all the people in our state dealing with the aftermath of Idalia. We encourage you to please read the email that our Florida GMC Disaster Recovery Coordinator, Laura Lambert, sent the day before yesterday. It’s full of details on how you and your church can help.
Today we welcome the following 31 churches into the Florida GMC:

We have many more churches in the process of joining the Florida GMC and expect to have between 130-140 by the first quarter of 2024. Praise God! We also have six church plants blossoming, and we look forward to sharing more about them in the weeks to come.
Lastly, registration for Homecoming, our first-ever Florida GMC Event, will soon close. We already have well over 650 registered! Our venue will only hold 800, so please register below before it’s too late. J.D. Walt and Bishop Mark Webb are ready to welcome you along with the Florida Conference Cabinet. We are excited to watch the Holy Spirit work in our midst, and we’ll announce the dates and venue of the convening annual conference. The day before we’ll have the first candidacy retreat for people called to become Florida GMC clergy. We already have 20…and the majority of them are in their 20s! God is good!
Please join me in celebrating all that God has done! We give Him all the glory! God bless you!
All God’s love,
Jay Therrell
